Anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with scents from home fragrances to perfumes to essentials oils just name it. As long as it smells good my nose and wallet will be there.

I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Clive Christian’s new fragrance Jump up and kiss me at the Scentopia store at Accra mall. Before I get into the launch I want to talk about how great it is to finally have access to global brands on the market. When I talk about access it’s the full experience of walking into the store and being able to test different things and having a sales advisor talk you through the process. The Scentopia beauty store is our very own Sephora in Ghana, it’s taken a while for Ghanaians to warm up to it but I think we’re there now (let me know if you have in the comments).

Back to the launch; Clive Christian is a high end luxury perfume brand from the United Kingdom. It’s a really posh and expensive brand, it’s known to be one of the most expensive perfumes in the world. I just knew I was so privileged to have been invited to the launch. The brand has a wide variety of perfumes in store but my focus today is on the Jump up and kiss me. It comes in two different scents ‘ecstatic’ and ‘hedonistic’ the former is for women and the latter for men. On the day of the launch I had a flu so I could barely get a whiff of any of the scents.

Fast forward to almost 2 weeks later when my airway has finally cleared I can fully give a review on the scent. Btw Perfumes are hugely based personal preferences and how your body reacts to it.

This scent is like nothing I have ever used, it is very intense. The right word is actually intoxicating, when I use it I can smell myself all day it’s almost like I’m enveloped in a bubble of the scent. The scent is warm with notes of sandalwood, amber and tonka bean. It also has floral notes which to me gives it its striking feature while balancing out the warm notes. This scent is basically a marriage of sweetness, warmth and floral notes. The unusualness of this scent is really what makes me like it more and more everyday. It’s not everyday I want to use a perfume that is easily recognizable.

Ok so let’s talk about price (drumroll) I got mine for free (I use the word loosely) as a PR package. It retails for 3450 Ghs and 460 GBP in the UK. I would say before you purchase go to Scentopia use the testers and wear the perfume all day to be certain you like it before you make the investment. It’s a scent I will use on special occasions to make sure it stays in my collection for a long time.

Have you used the Clive Christian Jump up & kiss me? What are your thoughts on it? Let me know in the comments ❤️
